4. The Village of Scarsdale and the Scarsdale American Legion Post 52 cordially invite you to participate in the annual Memorial Day Parade.

   This year’s parade will take place on Monday, May 26, 2025. Participants will assemble at 9:00 AM at Chase Park, with a ceremony at 10:00 AM before the parade begins. The parade  route will proceed south on Chase Road,  turn left onto Popham Road, proceed north on Church Lane, turn left onto Crane Road, head south on Chase Road, and conclude at Chase Park.    The parade route is approximately 1 mile. The estimated time of arrival at the final location is 11:30 AM.

   We hope you will join us in paying tribute to the brave individuals who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. If you are able to participate, please complete the below registration form by Monday, May 12, 2025. 

   Once your application is received and approved, you will be provided with your designated staging location, along with the parade rules and regulations.

32. Important Memorial Day Parade Rules

    1. All participants must register with the Village of Scarsdale and receive official approval prior to the parade. Unregistered individuals or groups will not be permitted to participate.

    2. Illegal substances such as alcohol, tobacco, vape products, and fireworks of any kind are strictly prohibited in the parade, or along the parade route. 

    3. An adult leader, age 18 or older, must accompany all youth groups along the parade route.

    4. For the safety of all participants, candy must not be thrown from vehicles. If you wish to distribute candy, it must be handed out by individuals walking alongside the vehicle, near the edge of the crowd.

    5. All signs, decorations, and attire must adhere to the Village's safety requirements and not obstruct views, impede the flow of the parade, or pose a distraction from the event's purpose of honoring those who served. Parade organizers reserve the right to restrict any materials that create a safety hazard or interfere with the orderly conduct of the event.

    6. All vehicles participating in the parade must be properly insured, registered, and operated by a licensed driver. Drivers must follow all instructions from parade officials and maintain a safe distance from other participants.

36. By participating in this parade, I expressly agree and acknowledge that I accept all risks associated with this activity. My participation or that of my organization is entirely voluntary, and I/we choose to participate despite the inherent risks. I voluntarily release, forever discharge, and agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Village of Scarsdale from any and all claims, demands, or causes of action arising in connection with my participation in this activity or my use of Village of Scarsdale equipment or facilities, including claims alleging negligent acts or omissions by the Village of Scarsdale, except in cases where such claims, demands, or causes of action result from the gross negligence or willful misconduct of the Village of Scarsdale.

    I acknowledge and understand that my image(s) and/or the image(s) of my parade entry, as well as any sounds produced by the entry, may be photographed, videotaped, and/or recorded by parade spectators, participants, or representatives of the Village of Scarsdale during my participation in the Village of Scarsdale Parade. I hereby grant the Village of Scarsdale full permission to use these images and/or sounds for purposes of publicity, promotion, sponsorship solicitation, broadcast or cablecast on television or radio, display on the Village's website, social media, or other online platforms, or for any other lawful purpose now and in the future, without any further notice or compensation to me. I further waive any rights to said images or sounds.

    By signing above, I affirm that I have read, understood, and agree to the terms of the liability waiver and photo release above. I understand that participation in the Village of Scarsdale Memorial Day Parade is voluntary and that I accept all associated risks. I also grant permission for the use of images and recordings as outlined in the agreement.
