In honor of the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States and the 325th anniversary of Scarsdale, the Village has developed a Children’s Float Competition to be featured at the Memorial Day Parade on May 25th.

Residents are encouraged to use their creativity and join us in commemorating these important anniversaries!

Rules & Guidelines

• Entries must be submitted via online submission form by May 15, 2026, at 5:00pm.
• Float themes must focus on honoring America and/or remembering our troops. Float designs must not include imagery or language that is offensive, divisive, or unsuitable for public display.
• Float designs are subject to approval by the Village of Scarsdale and must adhere to the rules and guidelines set forth in this document. The Village reserves the right to make a final determination regarding float eligibility on the day of the event.
• Floats may not be motorized or attached to a motor vehicle in any way. Floats must be pulled by hand (i.e. wagon, cart, etc.).
• No animals are permitted to walk within the parade route.
• Participants are prohibited from throwing items from the parade route into the crowd.
• All members of the float group must be listed as participants on the sign-up form.

Eligibility

• Participants must be residents of the Village of Scarsdale or Mamaroneck Strip to submit a design.
• If the participant is under the age of 18, parent/guardian signature is required upon submission.
