Annual Leaf Collection Program UnderwayThe Village’s annual leaf collection began Tuesday and runs through Friday, December 5. Please rake leaves to the area between the curb (or pavement edge) and your property line. Piles must be free of branches, twigs, and other yard waste, or they will not be collected. For safety and efficiency, Village Code prohibits sweeping, blowing, or placing leaves into the roadway. Questions? Contact DPW at 914-722-1150. Fire Prevention Fair This Saturday, October 18Join the Scarsdale Fire Department at Station 3 (56 Crossway) from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, rain or shine, for the annual Fire Prevention Fair. The event will include live demonstrations illustrating the dangers of unattended cooking and proper fire extinguishment techniques, as well as interactive lessons in the fire safety trailer. Families can enjoy refreshments, fun activities, and a firefighter read-aloud, while the American Red Cross will be on site to provide information on free smoke alarm installations, emergency preparedness, and hands-only CPR. Guests are also encouraged to bring their home fire extinguishers for a complimentary inspection and hands-on training. For more information, contact the Scarsdale Fire Department at 914-722-1215. |
