village spotlight Historic Bronx River Parkway Photos Now on DisplayA box of 50 photo prints focusing on Scarsdale’s section of the Bronx River Parkway, taken between 1912–1922, was recently rediscovered in Village Hall. With help from the Scarsdale Historical Society, which identified the locations and stories behind the images, a curated selection is now on display in the Local History Center at Scarsdale Public Library. The prints, from the Westchester County Archives’ Bronx Parkway Commission Photograph Collection, capture everything from polluted riverbanks and cleanup efforts to restored parkland and early Scarsdale landmarks like Scarsdale Falls and the Greenacres Tea House. Those interested can view the curated selection in person at the Library and explore the full 1,400-photo collection online through the Westchester County Archives.
